Pastoralist: provide frame work, community empowerment, build capacity for women, girls —Mlyetti Allah tells FG

A Socio Cultural Organization, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore fulani has called on the federal government to institutionalized legal framework, capacity building and community empowerment for the pastoralist women and girls engage in the Dairy Milk Entrepreneurship because of the challenges hindering their participation.

They have also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to explore dialogue in resolving the political situation in Niger

The group in a communique issued and signed by its president, Abdullahi Bodejo, and secretary, Saleh Alhassan at the end of its Annual General Meeting in Karu, Nasarawa state noted that any declaration of military action in Niger will have devastating consequences in the sub-Saharan Africa with negative impact on Fulani pastoralists.

The association which frown at the continuous extra-judicial killing of Fulani pastoralists by security agencies in the country also called on the National Human Rights Commission to investigate most of the atrocities and ensure Justice that is served.

According to the communique, the group while condemning the extra-judicial killings of pastoralists called for the creation of the Ministry of Nomadic Affairs by state governor to address the educational backward of the Pastoralist.

The communique totally condemn the continuous profiling of the Fulani race and urge the the federal, states and the press to investigate the veracity of their members involvement or risk legal actions.

It however expressed appreciation to the Governor of Niger State, Muhammed Bago, for the creation of the Ministry of Nomadic Affairs and called on other states to emulate the positive gesture.

The communique also thanked the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore fulani Socio-Cultural association, Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo for organizing the event aimed creating an avenue for fulanis to interface on issues concerning them.

The group also noted that it had endorsed the establishment of the “Miyetti Allah Vigilante” security group which will “assist security agencies in curbing criminalities such as cattle rustling, kidnapping and rural banditry” while adding that it also endorsed the introduction of a dress code for all its members as a way of preserving the Fulani culture.
