12 confirmed killed in a boat mishap in Nasarawa

Over 12 people have reportedly loss their lives in a boat mishap at river Kogi Kungra Kamfani, in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of the State.

The victims were said to be going to the farm when the incident occured leaving a total of 12 people dead out of the 19 people on board with 7 survivors.

Meanwhile, members of the State House of Assembly, have described the incident as unfortunate saying the death if the 12 people was a great loss whose contributions to the state would be greatly missed.

The lawmakers who condolled with the State Government, Lafia Local Government and the families of the deceased over the death of 12 people at a river Kogi Kungra Kamfani in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of the State.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi gave the condolence at an emergency sitting of the House Thursday in Lafia.

The Speaker while urging the bereaved families, the state government and the Lafia Local government Area and the entire state to bear the loss

“It is very sad that we lost 12 people, comprising of men and women in a boat sharp in Arikiya, Lafia LGA. 19 people to lost their lives in our dear state calls for concern. We have been thrown into mourning over this sad incident,” the speaker declared.

“On behalf of myself, Hon members staff and the entire Nasarawa people we condole with the bereaved families, Lafia LGA and the state government over their death in a boat mishap. We pray for the reposed of their souls,” the Speaker said.

The Speaker prayed God to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest.
