The senator representing Edo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Neda Imasuen has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to create a level playing ground for all political parties participating in the forthcoming September 2nd local government council’s elections.

Imasuen made the call while addressing journalists in Benin City ahead of the polls, in which Labour Party (LP) candidates would be contesting.

He tasked the governor to ensure a credible, free and fair election devoid of violence and manipulation.

The federal lawmaker appealed to the electorate to support the party to win the elections.

Imasuen said, if given a level playing ground during the council election, the party would emerge victorious, charging the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) to conduct credible, free and fair elections, which would be built on transparency, honesty and integrity.

Going further, Senator Imasuen added that Senators of the National Assembly are working together to ensure that all federal roads across the country will soon receive urgent attention as majority of the senators complained of the same deplorable condition of federal roads in their different senatorial districts.

“When l was about presenting my Bill for urgent attention to rehabilitate all federal roads in Edo State, the senate president, Senator Akpabio noticed that almost all the senators were about presenting same, but advised that we come together to present joint Bill to that effect. With that agreed suggestion, we are already working towards that direction, and very soon, l mean in a couple of weeks, all federal roads would receive attention”, he assured
