National Women’s Rugby sevens Tournament enters Day 2 In Delta

The national women’s Rugby sevens Tournament kicked off at the weekend inside the main bowl of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba with eight teams qualifying for the knockout stage to be played on Sunday

Host Delta team A Rugby side will tackle Anambra Angels in the second game of the day, after Edo State team must have played Benue Bufallos in the first match of the quarterfinals.

Delta team B will square up against Springbok of Anambra in another last eight fixture, while Gosar Rugby team of Lagos entertains Imo Pyramids in the last quarterfinal game.

There will be two losers games between Abia Rugby team and Eco 2 Rugby club of Lagos State, while the Nigeria Police Rugby team take on the winners of the game.


The semi finals is also billed for Sunday

The Competition which is being sponsored by Delta State Government alongside Bugawin is part of opportunity for talents to be discovered in Nigeria women’s rugby and also serve as an avenue to select players for the national female team that will embark on training tours across some West African Countries.

The President of the Nigeria Rugby Federation, Dr. Ademola Are and co sponsor of the tournament, Otumba Charles Yemi Farimoyo, CEO/MD Bugawin were present at the Competition.
