LAFIA — AS the speakership crisis rages on in Nasarawa, three members elect in the camp of Ogazi have dumped their camp to be sworn in by Speaker, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi
This is even as the Speaker, Daniel Ogah Ogazi has said they will remained opposed to what he described as illegality allegedly being perpetrated by the government in power and the Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
The swearing in was performed during an emergency sitting at the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Lafia
It would be recalled that those sworn in include Hon Mohammed Oyanki ( PDP- Doma North), Hon Ovey John ( PDP-Keffi East ) and Hon Hudu A Hudu ( APC- Awe North) who have been in the camp of the majority 14 members elect
Balarabe Abdullahi who called on the lawmakers to put the state and their people
ahead in their decision, urged members to discharged their duties without fear or favour.
” We have resolved collectively to partner His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule in order to bring speedy development to communities across the state.
” We have given our commitment to our people to solicit for development to our various constituencies, hence the need to effectively partner with His Excellency, ” Abdullahi stated.
Speaking with Journalists on behalf of other decamped member shortly after their inauguration, Hon Mohammed Oyanki, who was the Deputy Speaker to Ogah Ogazi said he led other two members to join Balarabe in the interest of peace, unity and development of their constituencies and the state at large.
“We decided to join the speaker in the interest of our people and the state and to contribute our quota to the development of the state,” Oyanki declared.
Also Speaking,i the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Legislative Liaison, . David Maiyaki called on members yet to be inaugurated to avail themselves the opportunity offered by the Balarabe in the interest of the State.
In his reaction in a telephone conversation, Hon Daniel Ogah Ogazi said his group who believed in the rule of law would not joined any one or group to encourage illegality in Nasarawa state
“We are Law abiding citizens committed to the peace, development and progress of Nasarawa state prepared to right the wrong”.
” We therefore want to call on our teaming supporters and wellmeaning citizens of the state to remain calm and wait the the outcome of the court is is the last hope of a common man.
He called on those mortgaging their conscience, encouraging illegality not to forget their last day on earth as God in heaven is watching the actions of everyone. It would be recalled that with the recent development, Balarabe has 14 members now leaving the Ogazi camp with 11mwmbers in the House.
