Fire razed tanker with gas in Gwagwa community in the FCT

A gigantic conflagration has Friday night razed sown, a tanker full of gas in the ancient community of Gwagwa in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Although the cause of the inferno was not clear, but some residents who spoke to our correspondent said that the tyre of the tanker vehicle entered into a porthole on the road and the gas exploded and attracted the inferno.

However, apart from the tanker that was burnt beyond repair, no other casualty was reported.

The driver of the tanker, his conductor were said to have successfully came out of the tanker unhurt.

Contrary to the report that many buildings were burnt to ashes, this replete reports that, with the exception of a small kiosk that was affected no other building was affected.

However when alerted, according to our source, officers and men of Fire Service came and quenched the inferno, adding that that their intervention prevented the conflagration from extending to buildings that were very close to the gas tanker.

However, some police officers were seen standing near the gas tanker for protection.
