Eid-el-Fitr: Muhammad Bello appeals for Kindness, peaceful coexistence For a stronger nation

The FCT Minister , Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid -el- Fitr, with a call on residents to be united towards promoting love, peace , stability and progress in the country.

The Minister in a statement to the residents, reminds them to continue to show compassion, generosity even after the Eid- el- Fitr celebration, that the holy month of Ramadan signifies.

He insists on the need for all to shun all utterances and actions that tend to divide us as a people, and embrace those that advance social growth and economic development of the nation.

He therefore appealed to all residents to join hands with each other and support the in-coming Administration to continue to build the FCT in accordance with the dreams of the founding fathers.

His words: “We should remember that we, as residents of the FCT, are stronger together in spite of our differences.We should realize that attaining our collective dreams for the FCT cannot be achieved without the collaboration and cooperation of all.Permit me to congratulate the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan which emphasized compassion, generosity and the importance of self –restraint. It is my prayer that all sacrifices endured and supplications made during the holy month will find favour with Almighty Allah.” Bello prayed.

He specifically encouraged all to show some care to the less privileged this season and beyond.

“As we celebrate let us spare a thought for the less privileged members of our society and stretch out our hands of fellowship and generosity towards them as was done during the Holy Month. The end of Ramadan need not signal the end of compassion towards one another.” Bello said.

The FCT Minister further reminded residents that the elections are over and the time for healing and coming together as a common people with a common destiny is now upon us.

He therefore task all to pray for Nigeria, that Almighty Allah will ensure a smooth transition of power to a new Administration in no distance time, and be security conscious.

The FCT Minister also used the medium to reiterate the FCT Administration’s commitment to continue to work hard to fulfill its mandate of developing a Capital Territory that would remain the pride of every Nigerian, within and outside the country.
