FRSC engages judiciary to prosecute traffic violators during Yuletide
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Mallam Shehu Mohammed, has directed all commanding officers to make mobile court operations a critical part of the End of the year enforcement.
He therefore asked the commanding officers to engage the judiciary in the Thirty Six States of the Federation and the FCT for seamless prosecution of traffic offenders.
Addressing news men in Abuja on measures put in place towards maintaining sanity and reducing incidences of road accidents during the Yuletide as volume of vehicular movement increases, Mallam Shehu Mohammed maintained that prompt prosecution of traffic offenders would serve as a deterrent to potential violators.
He appealed to road users, especially commercial drivers, to always obey traffic rules and regulations as no driver would be spared for going against the law.
The FRSC Boss emphasized that the Corps was ready to identify alternative routes to assist the motoring public during gridlocks and give notification of traffic distressed areas for intervention in the ongoing end of the year operations .
He stressed the need for the motoring public to download the FRSC Mobile Application for real-time reporting and update on the traffic situation across the country.
He assured that the Corps was collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Directorate of State Service, National Emergency Management Agency, NGO Ambulance Service providers and other stakeholders for the safety of road users and prompt removal of obstructions during emergencies.
According to him, FRSC personnel have been adequately mobilized to ensure 24 hours observatory along high volume 53 critical traffic corridors for the ‘Operation Zero Tolerance’, which will end in January
