President Tinubu’s wife doles out N50 million , Wrappers to 250 elderly in Nasarawa

Senator Remi Oluremi i Tinubu, wife of President Tinubu, Tuesday distributed 50 million naira cash, wrappers and other items to 250 elderly people of Nasarawa at the 2nd face of Renewed Hope Initiative in Nasarawa State.

The First Lady, represented by Nasarawa State commissioner for women affairs, Hajiya Aisha Rufia, said the initiative was aimed at supporting the welfare of the elderly.

“The Governing Board of the Renewed Hope Initiative has decided to increase the grant from N100,000 to N200,000 naira this year to provide further support to our elderly citizens during this festive period”

“A total of One Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira (N1,900,000,000) will be disbursed across the nation.

The RHI Coordinators in the 36 states of the federation, the FCT and POWA received Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000) of which N200,000 will be distributed to each beneficiary.

“In addition to this, free medical checks and other items will be provided” she disclosed.

Senator Tinubu’, commended all the State First Ladies/RHI State Coordinators and partners for their efforts in making this day a reality.

The first lady further congratulated the senior citizens who have been selected as beneficiaries. Urging them to remember to prioritise their health even as they all enjoy and celebrate in the festive season.

“Eat well, stay hydrated, do little exercise — like walking and getting adequate rest. Spend quality time with loved ones, and do what you enjoy and makes you happy”, She added.

Earlier, wife of the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Mrs. Tosin Akabe, urged the beneficiaries to make judicial use use of the money even as she advised them not to allow their children or grand children to misuse the money.

In her remarks, the wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, appreciated the wife of the President for the gesture designed to better the lives of the elderly in the state.

Some Beneficiaries, Fatima Hamza, Sa’adatu Usman and Hamza Moyi appreciate the nation’s first lady for the wonderful gesture and prayed God to continue to bless them and pray for it sustenance.
