Publisher bags 2024 National Human Rights Commission media award

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday announced the publisher of SINL Nigeria Online, Saminu Ibrahim as recipient of its 2024 media award.

The commission gave the award to Ibrahim at an elaborate ceremony held at its Maitama headquarters in Abuja.

Indeed, the event was in commemoration of the International Human Rights Day (IHRD 2024), with the theme “Our rights, our future, right now,”.

Present at the occasion was the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Dr. Tony Ojukwu SAN, chairman of governing council of NHRC, Dr Salamatu Suleiman, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, His Excellency, Mohammed Fall, Senior Human Rights, Office of the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Adwoa Kufour.

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, represented by Mrs Roseline Tasha and members of the diplomatic corps among others.

The International Human Rights Day (IHRD) is celebrated annually on December 10 to commemorate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

It is the highpoint of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence which commenced on November 25.
