NUJ Election an agenda setting for nation political class—Gov. Sule, congratulates New President, hails peaceful elections

Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman, North Central Governor’s Forum, Abdullahi Sule has described the peaceful conduct and emergence of the National president of the Union as an agenda for the political class in Nigeria.

Governor Sule in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Adra to Comrade Alhassan Yahaya on his emergence as the new National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, applauded the peaceful process that led to the emergence of a new Executives to run the affairs of the Union for the next three years.

Sule who noted the experience and cosmopolitan outlook of Comrade Yahaya, expressed confidence that the NUJ under the new leadership will galvanize members to better serve in their roles of watchdogs and agenda setters.

“The role of journalists is more profound today as the nation continues to navigate and find solutions to its development challenges”.

While urging for unity of purpose and support for the new executive to discharge their responsibilities efficiently. Governor Sule wishes the new team a successful tenure of office.

“Journalists are partners in development that have continue to make significant contributions to public discourse and serving as an important feedback mechanism between governments and the citizens and so deserve our collective accolades and support” Gov. Sule stated..
