Human Rights activist, Barrister Aare Oladotun Hassan has accused the chairman Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges and Public Petition, Senator Bayo Akinyelure of supporting illegality in the country.

Barrister Oladotun Hassan made the allegation while appearing before the committee on the need to review the appointment of Stella Okotete as chairperson Nexim Bank in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Senator Ayo Akinyelure told the petitioners that the matter was dead on arrival saying the officer in question is an appointee of Mr.

President and no force can’t remove her.

Miffed by the opinion of the chairman of the Committee, the petitioners led by Barrister Aare Oladotun Hassan addressed newsmen, citing relevant sections of the law against Stella Okotete ‘s appointment and sought for her withdrawal.

Barrister Oladotun Hassan said that the appointee lacked cognate experience of 18 years service in the banking sector before such appointment could be made.

He therefore advised relevant authorities not to appoint her as chairman of the bank.

Barrister Aare Oladotun Hassan also vowed to ensure he pursues the matter to its logical conclusion.
