Governor Ododo Congratulates Aiyedatiwa as Winner of Ondo Governorship Election

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his resounding victory in the Ondo State Governorship Election held on Saturday.

Governor Ododo, who played a pivotal role as the Deputy Chairman of the Election Management and Strategy Committee for the APC Ondo Governorship Campaign Council, described the victory as a testament to meticulous planning, strategic execution, and the unwavering commitment of the party’s leadership and members.

Speaking from Owo, where he oversaw the election operations in Ondo North Senatorial District, Governor Ododo expressed confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ability to sustain and enhance the developmental strides established by the APC in Ondo State.

“We have absolute confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s capability to continue delivering impactful governance,” Governor Ododo stated. “He has proven himself as a leader with vision and dedication, and we trust he will build on the achievements in infrastructure, social welfare, and the security of lives and property across the state.”

Governor Ododo commended the people of Ondo State, including non-indigenous communities, for their peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the electoral process. He assured them that their unwavering support and contributions to the state would not go unrecognized.

Urging unity and cooperation, Governor Ododo called on residents to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa as he embarks on his full term in office, beginning February 2025.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa the winner of the November 16, 2024, Ondo Governorship Election, with 366,781 votes, defeating his closest opponent, Honourable Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes.
