Abuja: First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Celebrates 2024 Annual Thanksgiving

First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja has celebrated its 2024 Annual Thanksgiving.

The special annual thanksgiving service is to appreciate God for His mercy, favour and faithful upon all members of the Church since the beginning of year 2024.

In a sermon to mark the Special Annual Thanksgiving Service in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Deji Oyelami said despite all challenges confronting the nation, God is still faithful to His children.

Reverend Oyelami who described thanksgiving as key to accessing divine blessings admonished Christians to always appreciate God in all situation.

Taking his bible reading from the book of Psalm 136 verse 1 to 3, the Baptist Clergyman enjoined the congregation to always shun act that could deny them God’s favour and blessings in their endeavour.

“As a child of God, we need to always thank God in whatever situation we found ourselves because according to the scripture our God takes delight in thanksgiving hence the need for us as christians to develop keen interest in appreciating Him for His goodness and mercy upon our lives” He explained.

While acknowledging the current economic hardship in the country, Reverend Oyelami noted that with the heart of gratitude and supplication to God, those who serve the Lord genuinely would definitely overcome challenges in their endeavours.

In his words “Things might be difficult right now in Nigeria but those who are born again in our Lord Jesus Christ and serve God in accordance with the teachings of the holy bible will surely surmount obstacles and have reasons to give thanks to God”.

Some members of the Church, Mrs Naomi Adelabu, Mrs Gbemileke Moses and Barrister Clement Oni expressed gratitude to God for giving them the grace to witness another Annual Thanksgiving Service of the Church.

While praying for God’s blessings, guidance and protection upon all members of the Church as year 2024 gradually winds down, they enjoined christians not to loose hope as the present situation of the country would soon be a thing of the past.

Highlights of the 2024 Annual Thanksgiving Service were special rendition by the Women Missionary Union, WMU, of the Church and prayers of Thanksgiving for all members of the Church as well as Nigeria and its leaders
