Nasarawa LG polls: APC Chair, Almakura, Speaker, others describe conduct as electorial stability

The All Progressive Congress APC leaders in Nasarawa Saturday described the peaceful conduct of the council polls as a move towards the stabilization of electorial process in the state.
Speaking while casting their votes at the various polling units, the APC leaders expressed the confidence that the party was on the way to guaranteeing the stability of the electorial system not only in Nasarawa but wto set the pace for other states to emulate.
State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Aliyu Bello, who casted his vote at Remi Uku Polling Unit of Gayam World, described the elections as free, fair and credible.

Speaking with journalists after casting his vote at Rimi Uku polling unit in Gayam Ward, Lafia, Dr Bello said the ruling APC has succeeded in earning the confidence of voters in the state following the increase political stabilization in the state.
According to Aliyu Bello, the developmental strides recorded across all sectors has build greater confidence in the electoriates adding that people would continue to appreciate and reciprocate the gesture by voting the party overwhelmingly in other elections.
“What has happened in Nasarawa state today is a clear indications that APC has stabilized Electorial structures ready to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people
He said APC has been on ground and working to improve the standard of living of the people of the state all-year round unlike other political parties which would wait until election period before reaching out to the electorates for votes.
On his part, a former governor of the state, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the poll, describing the exercise as credible, commended the State Independent Electoral Commission for ensuring that adequate materials and personnel were in place at the polling units and wards during the exercise.
“I have seen in different wards how the elections are conducted. My view about this election is that it is a very popular election. It is free and fair. And people are conducting themselves in the most expected manner,” he said.
Also speaking shortly after casting his vote,
Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, hailed the peaceful conduct of the council elections in the state.
Jatau, who represents Kokona West constituency, noted with happiness and expressed optimism that APC will come out victorious in the local government election in the state.
” By God’s grace, APC will win the local government election in the state. I want also want to commend voters for their peaceful conduct to vote the candidates of their choice” he said.
” I want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for making it possible for the State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) to conduct local government election in the State. I also want to commend the NASIEC for the conduct of the election in the state. The election is peaceful and calm” he said.
The Speaker who also appreciated security agencies for the role they played in ensuring peaceful poll in the state urged speedy development at the local government areas following in line with the Supreme Court judgement that granted full autonomy to them.
” We will make sure that the House check mate the activities of the local government for accountability, transparency and good governance. His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has passion for development as his project is in every local government areas of the state” he added.
Also, the chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC for Lafia Government Council, Mr Sagir Yahuza Ibrahim commended the State Independent Electoral Commission NASIEC for significant improvements in the electoral process.
He also praised security agencies for ensuring adequate personnel were deployed to maintain order.
