Sack unproductive Commissioners now, Nasarawa Citizens urge Gov. Sule

Dissatisfied with the unproductive and underperforming members of the Nasarawa State executive council, (Commissioners) stakeholders and other concerned citizens of the state have asked governor Abdullahi Sule to sack some members of his cabinet not performing.

According to the concerned citizens of the state, Nasarawa State has continued to suffer set back because governor Sule has surrounded his government with incompetent, unproductive persons without direction and lack capability and capacity to add value to the transformation of the state.

While calling on Governor Abdullahi Sule to rejig his cabinet, the citizens went further to advocate for the establishment of a productivity committee to assess performances of majority of the cabinet members across ministries, department, Agencies and parastatals in order to identify the redundant members of the cabinet.

“Take a cue and be Inspired by President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle so as to bring efficiency, productivity into the system. We have not seen changes in most of the serving Commissioners”

A political analyst and critique of good governance, Musa Abdullahi, observed that governor Sule anchoring his vision of achieving his set goals on the direction of most of the commissioners would give him the greatest disappointment at the end of his tenure.

“Having competent, proactive and dedicated team will give you good results. Bringing in commissioners for political compensation will only hold the administration back and the end results will be total failure. Rewarding those who perform is essential and could motivate others to galvanize the gain”.

“The goal is not just to replace people but to ensure that talented persons are utilized where it can be most effective. Governor Sule should consider a similar approach, focusing on capacity building and realigning his team to match their strengths.”

Abdullahi who highlighted President Tinubu’s strategy of reshuffling his cabinet to reposition ministers for optimal effectiveness, Called for the removal of non-performing commissioners in order to realize the needed gain of transforming the state.

One of the senior citizens of the state and a political leader in the ruling political party APC who spoke on account of anonymity, urged Governor Sule to urgently rejig his cabinet if gains must be made.

“The Ministry of Information which has a crucial role of educating the public, galvanizing public consciousness pull the people out from their slumber on government policies, programmes and achievements are doing nothing”.

” Many citizens and residents rely on social media and blogs to spoon-feed the people on what government is doing. What is the essence of retaining such a Commissioner in such a sensitive position to run the affairs of the state”.

“Some commissioners reportedly lack a thorough understanding of the governor’s vision and policies, hampering their ability to convey messages to the public. “Several commissioners avoid media interactions because they are unprepared or unclear about their mandates,, thereby doing more harm and disservice to both the administration and the people.”

“We voted for progress, not political favoritism. If some commissioners are not delivering results, they should be replaced with those capable and determine to to help the government and the entire state”

“The governor has worked hard to initiate numerous projects that could transform the state. It’s time for him to ensure his team are dedicated and committed to his visio,” the political leader stated.
