PDP secretary, 600 others dumps. party for APC in Nasarawa

Membership of the rulling All Progressive Congress APC in Nasarawa state at the weekend received a boost as the ward Secretary, Monday Gaskiya led other 600 members to denounce their membership of the opposition PDP to join APC.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, former PDP secretary, Monday Gaskiya and Mr Mathew Nkpameh, said they decided to joined the ruling party because of it’s people oriented programmes

According to the duo of Monday Gaskiya and Mathew Nkpameh, the leadership of the ruling APC and the administration of governor Abdullahi Sule has given them a lead and hope for brighter future adding that their movement to APC is in the interest of their people.

“We have seen hope, development, unity of purpose under the leadership of governor Abdullahi Sule, Aliyu Bello and our brother, the Hon.

Commissioner for Environment, Dr Yakubu Kwanta and others” Monday declared.

Receiving the decampees at a colourful ceremony in Ningo Bohar ward of Akwanga LGA of the state, Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Yakubu Kwanta, said the PDP secretary and over 600 members of opposition parties who decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), were convinced with the people oriented APC government in Nasarawa state.

The commissioner who used the occasion to donate 406 Pecugeot car to Stephen Sarkin Matasa Ningo Buhar Ward. Commended the Ningo Bohar ward for their continued support and assured them of the governor Sule’s administration commitment to delivering impactful dividends of democracy.

He called on APC supporters to come out and vote for APC at the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

Also speaking, Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Larry Ven-Bawa, lauded the Commissioner and Governor Abdullahi Sule for their commitment to democracy and public service.

Ven-Bawa who represents Akwanga North Constituency promised to complement the efforts of the duo and contribute his quota to the development of the ward.

Other speakers at the event include Mrs Larai Makpu, the special assistant to Governor Sule, on women affairs; Aminu Dogo and Evangelist Zakari Barkis described Kwanta as a true leader and called on others to emulate his gesture.
On his part, Chairman of the ruling party in Akwanga Local Government Area, Alhaji Abbas Liman, assured the decampees of equal opportunities.
