Ex Reps Member emerges Benue PDP Chairman, as party elects Deputy others

The former house of representatives member for Otukpo/Ohimini federal constituency, Ezekiel Adaji has emerged the new Chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic party PDP in Benue state.

This is even as other new executives were elected during a State congress held in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

Announcing the results, chairman of the Benue state Congress electoral committee, Alhaji Shaba Ibrahim, said they had a total delegates of 2910 and 2900 was accredited for the state congress election.

According to him, Chief Ezekiel Adaji polled 2482 votes and was declared winner.

He said Adaji would now head the 27- member State Executive Committee newly elected.

Other officials elected at the state congress alongside with the chairman include State Secretary Comrade Dan Nyikwagh, State Public Secretary, Hon Tim Nyor , Youth Leader, Ibya Terkimbi and Women leader, Mrs Alice Albert amongst others.

They were immediately sworn in by the Caretaker committee Legal Officer, Barr Friday Ejembi.

He commended all party delegates for their patience and for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the election.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the newly inaugurated State Working Committee, (SWC), Chief Ezekiel Adaji said he was overwhelmed by the massive show of support given to them by members of the party.

He said “Our state is in need of leadership and my state EXCO will not disappoint the party to ensure it bounced back to power.

“We are going to hit the ground running and we shall reconcile all aggrieved members of the party as we intend to set up a reconciliation committee immediately.”

Members of the PDP State Working Committee duly elected and sworn include Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, Chairman, Hon. Azua Ashongo, Deputy Chairman, Daniel Nyikwagh, State Secretary, Tivzua Zuana, State Treasurer, Tim Nyor, State Publicity Secretary, Ibya Terkimbi, State Youth Leader, Abraham Waroh, State Vice Chairman Zone A, Tyona Gbenyi, State Vice Chairman Zone B and Uche Augustine Ikeke, State Vice Chairman Zone C.

Others are Aba Caleb Mgiringa, State Organizing Secretary, Emmanuel Adokwu, Financial Secretary, Albert Ene Alice, State Women Leader, Akua Ngueren Vera, State Auditor, Agbakor Emmanuel – Legal Adviser, Clement Ogbu – Assistant Publicity Secretary, Eche Emmanuel Jacob – Assistant State Auditor, Akpentomun Isaac Nav – Assistant Legal Adviser, Dennis Ayange – Assistant State Secretary Zone A, Robert Mkar Hembe – Assistant State Secretary Zone B, Francis Inalegwu Ogbanje – Assistant State Secretary Zone C among others.
