Independence : Nasarawa Speaker hails efforts of founding fathers, urges Nigerians to keep hope alive.

As Nigeria marks 64th of nationhood and Nasarawa State 28th of creation, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has lauded Nigerians for their patience, loyalty, understanding and support to the government since independence in the country.

The Speaker who felicitates with citizens on this year’s independence celebration tasked them to keep hope alive in the face of the numerous challenges saying that they are surmountable.

The Speaker in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna and made available to City Post in Lafia tuesday acknowledged that the country is facing lots of challenges ranging from insecurity, economy and hardship stressing that there is more hope for the future and the problems will be overcome.

The statement said Speaker Jatau salutes the relentless efforts of founding fathers noting that their efforts will never go in vain.

He said that the progress and development achieved so far in the country was as a result of Nigerians loyalty, patience, understanding and support to both the past and present governments in the country.

The Speaker congratulated all Nigerians at 64 and Nasarawa State citizens at 28 and wished for a more fruitful and rewarding years ahead noting that despite challenges, significant progress was made since creation as both the State and the Country are not stagnant.

” I want to appreciate our founding fathers for ensuring that we got independence in the country. Since we got independence in the country, so far so good, the country is progressing and is moving forward despite our challenges, we are not stagnant as a nation and as a state” the Speaker stated.

The Speaker also urged Nigerians to use the Independence anniversary and reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers calling on all citizens to strive towards ensuring that their labours were never in vain by contributing positively to the development of the country.

The Speaker called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation’s unity, peace, progress and development especially to overcome the security, economic and hardship among other challenges facing the nation.

He also called on the people of the State and Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders at all levels to succeed.

” I want to call on Nigerians to continue to pray and support President Bola Tinubu, His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.

The Speaker called on the people of the State and Nigerians to continue to remain law abiding, respect constituted authorities and live peaceful with one another for development to thrive.
