Benue LG polls: PDP Female Chairmanship Candidate seeks Critical Stakeholders support

Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Benue state, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship flag bearer for Okpokwu Local Government Area, Hon. Patience Akor has appealed to stakeholders in the local government to rally support for in the forthcoming council polls.

This is even as inform them of her readiness to make a difference in the development programme planned for the area if given the mandate.

The PDP Female Chairmanship Candidate said at the meeting with the critical stakeholders in Okpoga that her development agenda is anchored on her aspiration to develop Okpokwu LG council devoid of personal gains.

She promised to positively impact several areas, such as health care, Education, building of markets and rehabilitation of the dilapidated Local Government Secretariat amongst other critical needs of the council.

Speaking during the meeting, senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Sen. Abba Moro charged all party members to key into the PDP, work for it to ensure victory at the polls.

Moro, who was represented by the former General Manager of the Benue State Environmental Sanitation Agency, Rt Hon Solomon Onah, stressed that the umbrella party was the only political party that can extricate Nigerians out of the current economic hardship caused by the APC government saying that a vote for PDP is a vote for redemption.

The Director General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Godfrey Adah, charged all party faithful to be united and dedicated to ensuring that PDP comes out victorious at the forthcoming polls.

He presented Hon Akor, and the vice chairmanship candidate, Hon Benedict Ochueje and all the councillorship candidates to the entire PDP family for their prayers and support.

The Local Government party chairman, Hon. Christopher Okpabi, who spoke on behalf of the PDP executives, urged both the local government and ward executives to go to their respective council wards and polling units to campaign for all the candidates under the canopy of the PDP.

He also urged all party faithful to kindly plead and persuade all aggrieved party members in their localities who lost out at the just concluded Local Government and ward Congresses to shield their swords and work for the general interest and common good of the party.

Also speaking, the Member Representing Okpokwu state Constituency at the Benue state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Agom Anthony thanked all party faithful for always standing and supporting the PDP in Okpokwu local government.

Agom, who disclosed that the Okpokwu was the home of the People’s Democratic Party, assured that the party would continue to win in Okpokwu.

The lawmaker charged all members of the party to go to their various wards and campaign so that, in the end, the umbrella party would come out victorious at the forthcoming polls.

Present at the ceremony were the vice chairmanship candidate, Hon Benedict Ochueje; all councillorship candidates, Hon Augustine Idah, Hon Adokwu, Hon Onyeama Okoh; the local Government woman Leader, Comrade Helen Ocheme, former councillors and a host of other party members.
