Wave of decamp hits NNPP as two members moves to APC

A wave of decamping has hit the New Nigerian People’s Party ( NNPP) in Nasarawa state following the dump of the party in which the won election into the state House of Assembly.

The member representing Doma South constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar, Thursday dumped NNPP and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.

The Speaker of the House,. Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau who announced the defection during the House plenary in Lafia, appreciated the lawmaker for his wise decision to join the progressive party, APC in the State.

The Speaker assured of his continued commitment to provide all inclusive leadership in the House.

Also speaking, Chairman of APC in the state,. Dr Aliyu Bello described the defection of Hon Musa as “home coming assuring the lawmaker of equal privileges, rights and treatments in the party.

On his part, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar said he defected from NNPP due to crisis rocking the party at the national level.
” I write to intimate you of my immediate resolution to defect from my former party, NNPP to APC in Nassarawa State.

” As a member of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and I’m duty bound to make laws that will impact on the lives of my constituents under a good frame of mind but due to the crisis in my former party aforementioned (NNPP) that has impeded me from concentration, hence the reason for my defection.

” Upon receipt of the letter, I here denounce my membership of NNPP and now a member of APC. I look forward to working with the leadership of APC in Nasarawa State House of Assembly and the
State at large.

” Attached in this copy are series of cases lying in various superior courts of records in the federation which has shown a great division in the party.

It would be recalled that with this development, the rulling All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading the Assembly with 12 seats with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) having 9 and the Social Democratic Party (SDP)-3 in that order.
