Veteran Nollywood Actor Emmanuel France Passes Away at 80

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into another round of mourning as veteran Nollywood actor Emmanuel France has passed away. The revered actor, believed to be in his 80s, was widely recognized for his exceptional performances in films such as ‘Cross My Sin’, ‘She Is My Sister’, and ‘The Director’.

The news of France’s death was confirmed on Monday by Nigerian filmmaker Femi Ogedengbe through a heartfelt post on his Instagram page.

Ogedengbe expressed deep sorrow while reminiscing about the time they spent together on movie sets.

“Rest in peace to one of Nollywood’s legends, Uncle Emmanuel France,” Ogedengbe wrote.

“He was one of the actors I took to Tanzania in 2006. We worked on three films together: ‘Cross My Sin’, ‘She Is My Sister’, and ‘The Director’. Rest in peace, sir.”

As of the time of this report, the cause of Emmanuel France’s death has not yet been disclosed.

His death comes as a shock to the Nollywood community, which is still reeling from the death of another actor, Big Larry, few days ago. France’s death has left fans and colleagues alike in pain, with many taking to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to his enduring legacy in the Nigerian film industry.
