Kaduna Attack: NACHPN Condemns Abduction Of Members, Calls For Immediate Release

The heart troubling news of the Kuyyalo community attack by the unknown gun men saddens the heart of the entire members of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN.

This ugly incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 9th September, 2024 when bandits invaded Kuyyalo Primary Health Care Center; abduct clients receiving care and two Community Health Practitioners on lawful duty at the health facility.

The safety and comfort of Community Health Practitioners in their various areas of assignments is a guarantee for the access to affordable essential health services to the vulnerable groups in our communities.

Speaking with newsmen on the incident, the President of NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed is called on the security apparatus to intensify efforts in protecting the lives of Community Health Practitioners that have laid down their lives in the service of their fatherland, as Community Health is their responsibility and concern.

According to him, the Association condemned the lawless act and commensurated with the Kaduna State Government, families of the victims as well our colleagues and the entire people of Birnin Gwari Local Government.

“My appeal to the Government is to ensure immediate release of victims in captivity, restore effective telecommunications service in Birnin Gwari LG and guarantee the security of lives and properties of people. Particularly our members who uptake the mandate to provide essential healthcare services in the remote areas of this country” He added
