Don’t foment crisis, embrace Consensus during forthcoming September elections — Nasarawa PDP cautions members

Ahead of the September, October People’s Democratic party PDP elections, the Nasarawa State Chapter of the party has cautioned it’s member not to plunged the party into crisis situation in the state.

Chairman of the party, Hon. Francis Orogu gave the warning shortly a stakeholders meeting at the party secretariate in Lafia.

According to Orogu, the party has put in motion necessary mechanisms to ensure that consensus arrangements been deployed is embibed and accepted by all the party members at all levels in the state.

” We want to make sure the forthcoming election of our party is free, fair, transparent and credible devoid of unneccessary hitches because we need this election as a foundation to have a credible structure as an opposition and to do the needful”, the party boss stated.

“We do not intend to create any room for crisis or any doubt. We also caution our member not to be mischievous in the cause of this exercise.to deliberately create any crisis for us”.

He announced the party leadership is committed to upholding of the election adding that the meeting was called to brief the Elders and other stakeholders of the party on the arrangements for the forthcoming elections of the party.

“We have committed ourselves to the conduct of a credible, transparent, fair, just and acceptable elections. We are going to uphold the guidelines of this election to the later”, Orogu assured.

Orogu who told Journalists that the meeting wasn’t an emergency one, explained that enough time was given for the meeting because of the importance attached.
“The meeting was meant to intimate our leaders after having a meeting with the working committee.

The PDP state Chairman who however disclosed that a member of the Social Democratic party SDP from Uke/ Karshi area of the state has decamped to PDP, said there were wave of coss carpeting in Nasarawa stating that his party was expecting more members of other party to join PDP

“Today, we receive a member who decamp from SDP to PDP, ordinary we would not have say something different, but having seen that a member of the house of Assembly also decamp to APC from NNPP we decided to bring it to the public domain”., Orogu said.

“What is good for the guse is also good for the gander and that is also a good one. The have move a step ahead and we have also move a step. They have 11 and we have 10. But We have a senator they don’t have one. We are expecting more members into PDP”, the Chairman declared .

“More member who were mislead are now ready and willing to join our party from other parties in the the state

“On this note I want to urged all members of the party to remain committed because we have encouraged everybody in the party to go back to all the units, words, local government to encourage Consensus . There is no need over blowing it we are one family that way we will not have problems”.

“We have the last primary election where we have over 136 contestants for the assembly, senatorial and others including governorship no single candidate went to court on the basis of consensus”.

Therefore, we are proud of it because its a record in Nasarawa. We want to conduct the most credible election in the forth coming congresses. We have done it before and we are going to do it again
The only assignment before me now is to conduct a credible election.

The chairman who debunked claims that Nasarawa is APC and APC is Nasarawa asked the ruling APC to remains quite said “why was the governorship candidate of APC running about weeping sentiments to win court case calling it religious matter even when it was clear and the tribunal said so”

“LG election was conducted with election results without ballot papers, figure showing scores, without pronouncing who wins. PDP is having a senator, Assembly members with other minor parties winning senatorial seat and Reps member. Where were APC when all these seats were won”, Orogu questioned.
