Nigeria immigration Service to investigate destruction of passport at Airport

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has launched a formal investigation following the circulation of a video on social media, portraying a female traveler destroying a Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos.

This is contained in a statement by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo adding that the woman has been identified and invited for questioning.

According to the statement
, if she is guilty of the allegations she would face the consequences of her actions according to NIS Act in Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), with corresponding penalties outlined under Section 10(h) of the same Act.
