Security beefed up in Nasarawa state over nationwide protest

Ahead of the planned nationwide protest bill to commence on Thursday August first, security has been beefed up around the Lafia Correctional Center in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Similarly, measures have been put in place in Nasarawa state especially the volatile areas and other strategic places to forestall any break down of law and order in the state

Apparently, security have been mobilized with additional presence of security personnel to safeguard the correctional center in Lafia facility to prevent any disruption, unforeseen situation during the demonstration period

In view of the anticipated turnout, security agents especially the police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure adequate protection of lives and property in the state.

Some of the measures put in place especially in the state Capital, Lafia include roadblocks, increased patrols, and surveillance to monitor the situation closely.

Our correspondent gathered that
local officials have urged protesters to remain peaceful and cooperate with security personnel to avoid a clash of interest.

The local while expressing their concerns over the planned protest however emphasized the need for violent free protest, as well as their readiness that the protest was hijacked because the danger inherent.

Community leaders, Lawmakers other stakeholders have also been engaging the youths and other leaders in discussions with law enforcement to ensure that the protest was violent free in Nasarawa state.
