Shelve your Nationwide plan Protest to keep Nigeria in peace- Nasarawa Lawmaker appeals

A lawmaker in the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Hon Emmanuel Ezikel Manding representing Wamba state constituency has lend his voice in appealing to protester against bad governance, hunger, insecurity and other voices to shelve their planned protest in the interest of peace.

He equally called on other well meaning Nigerians to mobilize against the protest, have confidence in President Bola Tinubu and his administration to remain focused and address the economic and other challenges confronting the nation

Manding who made the appeal while speaking with Journalists Saturday in Lafia.

said before the assumption of president Ahmed Bola Tinubu in 2023, Nigeria have been having some economic challenges which the President is gradually addressing by initiating policies that would have long term effect on all the citizens.

“Let me use this opportunity to appeal to our people especially the youths to give peace a chance because no society progresses in the face of protests, destruction of infrastructures. This is why Nigerians especially the youths must imbibe the spirit of tolerance, perseverance patience and toe the part of dialogue in resolving issues in the overall development of the country”, Manding stated

He stated that some of the Issues outlined by protesters are issues well known and the administration is doing everything humanly possible to have them addressed.

“The issues highlighted are political, constitutional matters which President Tinubu is religiously addressing through constitutional amendment which is currently ongoing at the National Assembly. What is required of us today is to give the administration a chance and peaceful environment to implement some of the issues agitating our minds”, the Lawmaker stated.

“We don’t need any form of protest in Nigeria for now because President Bola Tinubu is doing everything possible to reposition the country with his various people oriented policies and programmes aimed at ensuring national economic reconstruction, rehabilitation, development, food sufficiency, security among others hence the need to support him to actualize his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians”.

The Nasarawa Lawmaker urged the protesters to have a rethink, invigorate their confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s determination to reposition the country and make it a country we can proudly call our own adding that it is only when all hands are on deck that the challenges can be over ome.

While also appealing to the federal government to dialogue with the organizers of the nationwide protest, Manding expressed the hope that with the collective support of all Nigerians, the country would soon overcome its challenges and take its rightful place among comity of nations.

“We should all believe in the Nigeria project and have the hope that the hardship currently facing us will be surmounted with the relentless efforts of the president, the governors to actualized the dream of making Nigeria a peaceful place for all citizens.
