Nation wide Protest, Nasarawa CAN condemns action, calls for restrain

The Christian Association of Nigeria CAN in Nasarawa State has condemned the proposed nation wide protest scheduled for August calling on those behind the planned protest against bad governance and hardship to retrieve their steps in the interest of peace.

CAN which however admitted that there was hardship and hunger in land advised those involved to bury their decision and focus their attention on pray for Gods’ intervention.

The Association gave the advice in a Statement signed by its Chairman, Very Reverend Sunday Emmah, made available to Newsmen on Tuesday in Lafia, the State Capital.

According to the Chairman, CAN in the State is conscious of the prevailing hardship and tribulation permeating Citizens of the Country, adding that such is indeed a tempting moment for some persons.

The Chairman who disclosed that the situation has made many Families not to have good square meal in a day, sympathized with Nigerians who are experiencing the situation.

He however appealed to those calling for the protest to enchew such mission and channel their energy to the part of peaceful dialogue with the authority.

While advising Christians in the State to remain calm as well as stay clear out of the planned protest, he called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to respect the existing Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Law in the Country.
“CAN in Nasarawa State is in receipt of the news on His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in respect of the Same Sex Marriage and other related issues, we are conscious of the existing law on this monster, in 2013, His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan signed into Law the same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, we urge this Government to enforce the Law and never to act in defiance thereto”.

He charged Nigerians to always pray for peace in the Country and avoid acts capable of causing problem.
