Breaking: NASSLAF Chairman, Nwala Congratulates NBA President Elect, Mazi Afam Osigwe On His Victory.

The Chairman of National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum of the 10th Assembly, High Chief, Barr. Emeka Nwala has congratulated the President Elect, Mazi Afam Osigwe on his victory, of the just concluded Nigeria Bar Association election held on Saturday, 20th July at 12:00 am to 11:59 pm.

Through a letter dated Sunday, 21st July, 2024, Nwala sent his heartfelt felicitations to Osigwe on his overwhelming victory at NBA polls.

He noted that Osigwe’s triumph was a litmus test for his “unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership and indelible mark” Osigwe set as standard in positions he held previously in NBA both at National and sub-national levels.

Nwala wrote that the popularity and respect Osigwe has garnered over the years within the legal community paved way for him to win the election as president elect.

Nwala encouraged Osigwe to continue being on the side of the people, aligning with hopes and aspirations of the Nigerian populace, while constructively engaging with the government in power, holding them to account, to uphold the rule of law. Nwala has no doubt Osigwe will deliver in this capacity as the president of NBA.

Aware that the NBA is at the critical moment, Nwala asserted that leadership prowess of Osigwe is key to help restore the lost glory of NBA.

To maintain the trust the electorates have invested in Osigwe by electing him, Nwala advised that all his campaign promises in his manifesto, specifically those he reeled out for NASSLAF members must be granted to further endear him to the hearts of his members.

The number one Aide in National Assembly, Nwala, used the opportunity to thank the electoral umpires for ensuring the election was credible, free and fair. Nwala commended their collective efforts in upholding the integrity of the process and the trust the electorates had in them. Nwala emphatically thanked the security agencies, specifically those saddled with the responsibility of cybercrimes for being vigilant and ensuring no candidate was short changed.

Nwala recommended that the other candidates should rally round Osigwe in solidarity and sportsmanship to move NBA to the next level, noting that, they join hands in rebuilding and strengthening the association, making sure it remains the institution where justice and integrity is maintained and upheld.

Nwala said he looks forward to experiencing Osigwe’s leadership endowments in reviving and turning things around in the NBA and the larger legal community.

Furthermore, the NBA is at a critical juncture, and your leadership is pivotal in restoring its lost glory. Your campaign promises, especially those directed towards NASSLAF members, must be fulfilled to maintain the trust and confidence reposed in you by the electorate.

I also take this opportunity to commend the electoral body for conducting a transparent and credible election. Their dedication to upholding the integrity of the process is commendable. Special thanks to the security agencies, particularly those in the cybercrime unit, for their vigilant efforts in preventing any manipulation of the results.

Lastly, I urge the other contestants to rally around you in unity. Together, you can rebuild and strengthen the NBA, ensuring it remains a beacon of justice and integrity in Nigeria.

You will recall that through the instrumentality of Nwala’s position as the Chairman of NASSLAF of the 10th Assembly, which houses over 10,000 Aides and has over 4,000 Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Senior Legislative Aides, Aides and Legislators who are lawyers, he vigorously canvassed for votes in solidarity for Osigwe.

Nwala had earlier before the election held a get-to-gether between the Legal community within NASS and Afam Osigwe, where Osigwe spoke his mind and got the nod of these lawyers who work in National Assembly.
