One million worshippers to grace ‘Celebrate the Comforter’ in Abuja

No fewer than one million worshippers will grace this year’s edition of ‘Celebrate the Comforter’ annual convention in Abuja.

The Founder, Love of Christ Generation Church, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi also known as Iya Adura, revealed this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the renowned cleric, while 750,000 worshippers graced the event last year, this year’s spiritual programme billed for July 20, 2024, is expected to have more than a million congregants.

City Post reports that the event which is billed for the main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja (formerly National Stadium), with workers already erecting the stage.

Iya Adura said the convention had shown that white garment churches were not fetish but staunch believers of Jesus Christ, even as she expressed happiness that her efforts to unite the Celestial Church of Christ and Cherubim and Seraphim Church had started yielding fruits.

The prophetess said religious leaders and prominent citizens from all the continents of the world would join Nigerians to celebrate Jesus Christ at the convention.

Celebrate the Comforter, the largest gathering of all white garment churches debuted in 2017 at Excel, an international exhibition convention centre in Royal Victoria Dock, London.

The convener said this year’s event has the endorsement of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), adding that rallies have been held in Abuja and Lagos to sensitize Nigerians on the forthcoming convention.

“On the choice of Abuja as venue, she said, “This is where the President of this great country is speaking from. And we need to pray at the situation that is going on in Nigeria. It is not only in Nigeria but all over the world. It depends on how well travelled you are.

“In England before, if we bought electricity and gas of about 50 Pounds, we could use it for six to seven weeks. But in May (2024), I bought electricity and gas for 50 Pounds two times in two weeks.

“It means what is going on concerning the economy is not only Nigeria, it is all over the world.

“On July 20th by the special grace of God, at the main bowl of the National Stadium, we are going to pray for Mr. President and his family. We are going to pray for Nigeria. We are going to pray for the whole wide world and most importantly, we are going to win loads of souls for our Lord Jesus Christ because this is not about anybody. This is about Jesus Christ. We are not celebrating anybody. We are celebrating the creator of the whole universe. We are celebrating Jesus Christ the comforter himself, the one that is going to comfort our homes”.
