Nasarawa, Bobtract Tractor to Assemble Tractors in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Government and Bobtract Tractor Limited Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a tractor assembly plant in Nasarawa State.
The partnership agreement according to a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa state Capital by the Senior Special Assistant to governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs , Comrade Peter Ahemba, is to enable the Company make use of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI)’s facilities in Lafia to assemble tractors, provide affordable and high-quality tractors to farmers in the state.
The agreement when fully operational, will enhance agricultural productivity and mechanization as well as create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the state, among others.
“Signing the MoU marks another significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to attract investors in the state, transform the agricultural sector and promote economic development”, the statement added.
Governor Sule according to the statement expressed delight at the partnership, stating that it aligns with the state’s agricultural development strategy and vision to make Nasarawa State a leading agricultural hub in Nigeria.
The statement stated further that the company is expected to roll out its first set of tractors within 120 days in the first instance.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the state governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, amongst other dignitaries in Abuja.
Recalled that the Governor had earlier facilitated an agreement entered into between NASENI and the Bobtract Tractors to use the agency’s facilities in Lafia for the purpose of assembling tractors.
