Nigerians must go to God in sincere prayer to heal the nation —-Catholic priest ***advocates renew hope, respect for leaders

The Catholic Priest of St. Augustine Catholic Church Ombi 1 in the Diocese of Lafia, Nasarawa state, Rev. Fr. George Shenge on Sunday called on Nigerians to go back to God ernest prayers, renew their vows to God for the promotion of peaceful coexistence in the country if the nation must be healed of the crisis in the country.

The clergy has also urged the citizens to have the fear of God in their daily endeavours, respect the constituted authority, shun divisive tendencies as well as ensuring that issues capable of encouraging and promoting political and religious crisis in Nigeria are discouraged.

Rev. Father Shenge who made the call in his homily in Lafia noted the Nation was experiencing hardship, insecurity and other forms of crimes because citizens have gone away from the vows made to God by adherence of various religious which he said was fast expiring as the people have forgotten their commitment and are going contrary to their promises.

Fr. Shenge explained that every Nigerian irrespective of his or her religious beliefs should turn to God in truth and spirit in the face of the economic, social and security challenges confronting the nation for sustainable solutions.

He explained that if leaders and followers would do things that would pleased God, the situation of the country would be changed for better..

He added that God is the only solution to the country’s problems adding that it is not magic, people should just decide to do the right things at all times.

The Catholic priest also called on Nigerians not to give up in the face of the dounting hardship but have faith in God who is capable of turning things around for good at whatever point, advocating respect for the leaders and others in the office, school, business or relationships that people are facing challenges and have given up, God can still help them.

“Go to God in prayers even if it is admission that you are looking for over the years or job you are seeking or even business that is not doing well, just trust in God and see his wanders in your life,” he added.

While reminding Christians that the Bible says that sin against persons would be forgiven, but the sin against the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven, he advised Christians to desist from making blasphemous statements such as ‘my situation is too bad as such I will not pray again to avoid the hanger of God’.

The Rev father who took his readings from Acts of Apostles 2:1-11, Galatians 5: 16-25 and John 15:26-27 and 16:13-15 respectively.added that there would be rain after the tunnels.
