Rivers State Assembly Confirms Dagogo Israel Iboroma as Commissioner for Justice

The faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly that aligned with Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially confirmed legal luminary, Dagogo Israel Iboroma as the Commissioner-designate for Justice.

Iboroma, a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), underwent screening and confirmation proceedings led by Speaker Victor Oko Jumbo, one of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s loyalists.

The confirmation ceremony took place on Monday at the Chambers inside the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt, where Iboroma emerged successfully vetted for the esteemed position.

It is anticipated that Governor Fubara will promptly administer the oath of office to Iboroma, who is slated to assume the role of Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

Recall that the position was left vacant following the resignation of Professor Zaccheus Adangor SAN, who was redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties within the Governor’s office two weeks prior.

Iboroma’s journey to confirmation commenced with an official invitation extended to him on Sunday, signed by Dr. G.M. Gills-West, the Clerk of the House. The letter summoned Iboroma to undergo the screening process slated for May 13, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Hallowed Chambers of the Rivers State House of Assembly Auditorium, Admin Block, Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.

The appointment of Dagogo Israel Iboroma, a legal heavyweight renowned for his expertise, marks a strategic move by Governor Fubara’s administration to uphold legal excellence within the state’s executive council.
