Amidst concerns over the collapse of key roads in Abia North, Hon. Maduka Okoro, media aide to former governor Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, has staunchly defended his principal’s infrastructure legacy.

Okoro attributed the deterioration of Nunya Road to a systemic failure in maintenance following Sen. Kalu’s tenure.

In an exclusive interview with ABN TV in Umuahia, Okoro underscored Sen.

Kalu’s role in constructing vital infrastructure in Abia North, highlighting the senator’s hands-on approach to the development of Nunya Road.
However, he lamented that subsequent administrations failed to uphold adequate maintenance standards, leading to the road’s collapse.

Addressing a perceived stagnation in development between 2007 and 2023, Okoro praised Governor Alex Otti’s recent efforts to initiate reconstruction projects in Abia North, signaling a renewed commitment to regional development.

Okoro vehemently defended Sen. Kalu’s gubernatorial tenure, asserting that the former governor had diligently served the people of Abia and should not be held responsible for the neglect witnessed in later years.

Okoro urged residents of Abia North to throw their support behind Governor Otti’s administration while reaffirming Sen. Kalu’s ongoing dedication to representing their interests in the Senate.
