We ‘ll sustain war against sex for marks in NSUK–Nasarawa ASUU Chair vows

As sex for marks and other unethical behaviours appears to become the trend in most universities in the country, Chairman of the Academy Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Nasarawa state university.

(NSUK) Keffi , comrade, Samuel Alu on Sunday vowed that the union would sustain the fight against sex for marks in the institution

He also said the union will resist all frustrations, attacks and attempts to weaken the union fight against other ethnical behaviours as a deliberate steps towards ensuring a healthy learning environment in the university.

The Union chairman while playing host to journalists in Keffi, maintained that because of the relentless efforts by his union would not secuum to pressure from any quarters untill the trends are completely change to meet the standard of the state University.

He explained that being passionate in fighting this crime, the union recently took it upon to organize a public awareness lecture entitled “Curbing unethical conducts in Nigerian universities, the ASUU perspective.

” I tell you the comrade president, professor Emmanuel Osoluke was in attendance and two major lectures were delivered by members of our union as the entire university in Nigeria attended”.

“Our NSUK branch has been fighting those unethical conducts for long now I am happy to announce to you that the effort has yielded a positive results as no complain of such act has been received in the institution.

He added that the Union has taken campaigns to all the tertiary institutions in the state including the private ones where lecturers asked for money for marks among other unethical acts,

“We on our part as a union in collaboration with the management of this institution have been fighting this menace either on the part of students or our lecturers” Osoluke stated
.
On the relationship between the ASUU and the out- going vice chancellor of the university, professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, the chairman explained that the VC has been working tirelessly in insuring that the welfare of members of the union are adequately cater for in the institution.
