The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

This decision came after a comprehensive review and adoption of the Senate Committee on Communication’s report, presented by its Chairman Bilbis Ikra (APC-Zamfara) during the Committee of the Whole session held on Thursday.

The Chairman urged the Senate to carefully consider President Bola Tinubu’s request for the confirmation of Maida’s appointment, in line with the stipulations outlined in Section 8 (1) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Establishment Act of 2003.

Following thorough screening processes by the Senate Committee, Maida successfully passed all mandatory security clearances.

The committee also affirmed his possession of the requisite qualifications, extensive professional experience, notable competence, and an inherent regulatory capacity essential for steering the NCC towards further success.

Consequently, the Senate, acknowledging Maida’s meritorious credentials and capabilities, unanimously approved his nomination to serve as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).
