N 2.187 trillion: LiST of 58 Ex Governors Divides APC.. ” Let EFCC Release Lagos, Ogun, Osun , Ondo…..Haruna Gololo, APC Chieftain

The former Coordinator of Ahmed Bola Ahmed Tinubu’/ Shetimma Presidential Campaign in the North East – Bauchi, Yobe , Gombe and Borno State, Dr. Haruna Garus Gololo, has challenged the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), Olanipekun Olukayode, to include the names of ex governors from the South West in the list of ex governors on the watch list.

Reacting to the list of the 58 Ex governors alleged to have mismanaged , misappropriated and embezzled or launder over approximately N2. 187 trillion over the last 25 years, credited to the EFCC, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, the former presidential Campaign Coordinator states that ” the list left many questions as per what is the intention of the EFCC in releasing a list that includes those that are late like the former governor of Kogi state, Abubakar Audi, those that have served their prison terms and granted presidential pardon like Jolly Nyame and Joshua Dariye”

” As a lawyer I expected the EFCC Chairman to know that this cases have been laid to rest .

Is he telling us he wants to reopen the cases?”
” Again, is he suggesting that all the ex governors from the South west except the two listed from Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi and Ayo Fayose, are imams and pastors, what about other ex governors from Lagos state, Ogun state, Osun and Ondo who have been invited by the anti graft commission and the list of the funds they allegedly stole are in the public domain?”
He said that the list is full of sentiment
” It is only ex governors from North, South South and South East that are published, but as far as I am concerned I don’t expect Dariye and Nyame on that list because it is double jeopardy to label them as ex governors under EFCC watch”
While commending the Chairman of EFCC, Gololo admonished the commission to tread on the path of patriotism like his predecessor in office Mallam Nuhu Ribadu in order not to give in to allegations of corruption and self enrichment.
” He is doing a good job, we don’t want him to end like Larmode, Farida ,Magu and recently like Bawa, so if he is publishing list let it be all encompassing because we have records of other governors from the South west who have been invited by the Commission in the past”
